Dr. Kennedy is a licensed speech-language pathologist with experience within a variety of educational and clinical settings. She enjoys working with school-age children and using evidence-based practices to increase their oral and written language skills. As a Clinical Assistant Professor, Dr. Kennedy recognizes the importance of mentoring undergraduate and graduate students and preparing them to work with culturally and linguistically diverse children. Thus, she seeks to integrate the intersectional understanding of communication, language and culture in her clinical and academic teaching instruction. Dr. Kennedy received her PhD in Educational Studies with a Concentration in Cultural Studies at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG), a MEd in Communication Disorders and a BA in Elementary Education at North Carolina Central University (NCCU).
